Invitation

On behalf of the Scientific and Organizing Committees,
We would like to cordially invite you to join us for

The 5th International Posture Symposium

Which will be held in the Congress Centre of Slovak Academy of Sciences in Smolenice Castle, Slovak Republic, September 3. -6. 2008.

The tradition of Posture symposiums in Smolenice Castle, Slovakia, started in 1971 as a second symposium of the International Society of Posturography established in 1969 (now the International Society of Posture and Gait Research). A new series of Posture symposiums in Smolenice Castle started in 1992 and 1994 with help of Thomas Mergner from Germany and continue in 2003 and 2006 years.

The 5th International Symposium will concentrate on " Translation of posture mechanisms for rehabilitation". The programme of the symposium includes keynote lecture by Fay Horak and small sessions on selected topics with mainly free oral presentations and some posters.

This symposium is partly sponsored by EU project FP6-IST: “SENSACTION-AAL Sensing and Action to support mobility in Ambient Assisted Living” and during symposium will be held a special workshop. It is an opportunity for researchers, clinicians and bioengineers. We hope to provide a place not only for a fruitful scientific discussion but also for pleasurable social ambience and informality. We invite you to participate in exchange of ideas from various points of view of human posture control.

So please, join us for this important conference.

With sincere thanks from,

Frantisek Hlavacka,
Chair of Organizing Committee
